The project is a furniture warehouse and distribution center for Restoration Hardware in Patterson, California.  The facility will serve the western region of the US and Canada and will incorporate office space as well as furniture repair, quality assurance, and home delivery service.  The project is submitting for LEED silver certification. Teaming with a developer from the east coast, RGA faced a number of unique challenges with this facility starting with bringing an inherited schematic design to fruition as Architects and Structural Engineers of record.  RGA was tasked with producing the construction documents for building the project as well as coordinating and distributing information to multiple disciplines including Civil Engineering and Landscape Design.  The project had an extremely agressive schedule in order to meet end user needs for startup operations.  To achieve the goals the project was permitted in phases starting with grading, foundation and warehouse, and ultimately office spaces. While the tasks seemed daunting at times and required a lot of work from the team, seeing the job come to completion and function to the satisfaction of its owners has been very rewarding.  We hope to take what we have learned into similar projects going forward.
